Better cricket,
one session at a time.
One-to-one cricket coaching with Matthew Spoors in Melbourne. Focused sessions, practical feedback and a plan built around your game.
I've played at the top level. Now I coach.
I have played in the Big Bash League for the Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades, List A cricket for Western Australia, and international cricket for Canada.
I coach the way I train: a few clear priorities, filmed so you can see them, and a plan for the work between sessions.
Start with one session.
Stay for a block.
Every session is 45 minutes. The first is an assessment, filmed, with a written plan you keep. After that, book one at a time or as a weekly block. Send a request and I will reply within 48 hours with prices and times that suit.
Founding playersMy first 10 players get the 5-session block at a founding rate. In return, I ask for an honest written review once the block is finished. Offer ends 31 December 2026.

Every session follows the same shape, so a player always knows what they are working on and why.
Assessment
The first session looks at the whole game: technique, decisions, mindset and the habits between sessions. It is filmed, so we are both looking at the same thing.
Focused work
Two or three priorities at a time, never twenty. Each 45-minute session works on those until they hold up under pressure.
A practical plan
A short written plan for the days in between, updated as the game changes. Film review keeps it moving when I am away playing.
Craft
Technique that repeats under pressure.
Game Sense
Reading the situation and choosing well.
Mindset
Routines and resets between deliveries.
Engine
Habits, movement and recovery.
It shuts the hip, which is why both straight balls went square. Ten minutes of cone work, twice this week.
It repeats on every ball. Not the problem.
This week: cone drill only. Send me ten balls on Thursday.
A player who coaches.
I came through a Western Australia rookie contract from school and played for Australia under-19s before professional cricket in Australia and internationally for Canada.
